Hope & Help is a registered charity based in Blackburn. We provide a wide range of support services, allunder one roof. Our goal is to help individuals, families and communities. We focus on services that are most needed in the area and, crucially, we offer it all for free.

Our Role and Philosophy

Our values and our philosophy are best illustrated through our company logo. It depicts a tree, whose deep roots sustain it through the seasons. For us, those roots represent our faith and community ties; beliefs and relationships that give us a reason to live, as well as the hope and energy to meet the many challenges of life.

Importantly, we extend that same strength and energy to others, through advice and compassionate support. We reach out to people in order to provide assistance that, time and again, people describe as “much-needed.”

Background

Hope & Help was founded by Moulana Suhail Manya, who has served the people of Blackburn for many years. Born and raised the town, M. Suhail studied in South Africa but returned to the community in 2003 to work as an imam. Over the following years, he witnessed growing demand for individual and family support, and it was from this experience that the Hope & Help vision was born.

Hope & Help was established to provide a properly structured vehicle for delivering various forms of support; an organisation that would attract and co-ordinate the efforts of staff, scholars and volunteers. The organisation was launched in January 2021 and met with such a high level of demand that we felt immediately compelled to grow.

It was for this reason that we launched the Hope & Help walk-in centre and this website. Through them, we aspire to provide a free and comprehensive service to the community.
